We left the resort at 6:30 this morning and got into the van with our Greek yogurt, granola, fruit parfaits, eating under the cover of darkness. It’s off to Zion National Park. Unfortunately, the popular trails were closed due to ice. Most of the group decided to brave it, and hike anyway. As for me, I was more interested in taking lovely pictures from a safe trail. So me and Pam-from-South-Carolina took the easy road.
Turns out, the brave group had a difficult hike and found it very icy. However, Pam and I enjoyed our stroll. We returned to the resort in time to say good-bye to the people who were going home.
I spent the rest of the afternoon shopping for a new pair of hiking shoes. I told the store clerk I needed a pair that won’t let the sand in, but they must be light, they must fit my wide foot, they must have a low heel drop, no arch support, and super grippy tread (I have a fear of sliding off a rock and killing myself). I hit the jackpot with my new Five Ten Camp Fours! I can’t wait until Monday when I try them out.
My evening was spent in the spa getting a new hair cut. My way of celebrating week one. So excited for week two to begin!Share This:
